An absent Geoffrey Rush has won the best supporting actor award as The King's Speech ruled the BAFTAs in London on Sunday night.
The movie about King George VI's battle to overcome a stammer picked up seven awards in total.
Colin Firth continued his march towards this month's Oscars by being named best actor, Helena Bonham Carter won the best supporting actress category and it was also named best film.
Rush, who was busy in New York with a stage production, trumped Christian Bale for his performance in The Fighter which is good news considering Bale has been tipped as the favourite to collect the supporting category at the upcoming Oscars.
