Actor Damon Gameau wins Tropfest


Whittled down from an initial 700 entries… Actor Damon Gameau has won first prize at this year's Tropfest short film festival.

The Aussie actor, who has appeared in the Underbelly series and the 2009 movie Balibo, was widely praised for his film Animal Beatbox.

The movie is an animation described as having a catchy lyrical and poetic narrative.

The film was shot in Gameau's mother's spare room and cost just $85 to make.
